Our latest free-to-enter draw (competition 12) to win a Prism padded dust cover for your rig and Hamsats and Amsats by Andrew Barron ZL3DW has been won!
However! There was a slight technical hitch in that the lucky recipient didn’t responded to the news that they are a winner. We waited until Friday 27th July 2018 for a response to our email (sadly a telephone contact number was not included) and miraculously we made contact before the deadline.
Our winner is Paul Rawdon ZL2UCI who lives in Christchurch New Zealand. He wins our book by Andrew Barron ZL3DW (wonder if they are near neighbours!) and the Prism rig dust cover. Paul has chosen one for his Kenwood TS-850S. In response to the news of being our 12th prize winner Paul said:
I've had a call sign since the early 80s having cut my teeth like I imagine many others did on CB. Aside from the beginning I haven't been very active on amateur bands. In those days I was restricted to 2 metres and above which was a little like CB. My activity level is liable to change now that I have just become the proud owner of a Kenwood TS-850S. Presently I'm using a G5RV Junior for an aerial. I am a member of the Christchurch Amateur Radio Club.
My main radio interest has been as a DXer/SWL, I've been a member of the NZ Radio DX League since the 1970s. With the mass closedowns of many broadcasters and the overcrowding of the MW broadcast band my main interest area is with FM DX. Using my ham call sign will help preserve my interest in radio. A recent related interest is in Satellite TV, I have a C Band and Ku Band dish.
